凯西最大的遗产是他的解读。自1901年3月31日，为了解决自己声带不能发声的问题，给出了第一个解读开始。到1944年9月17日的最后一个解读为止。整理出的有记录的解读共有14246个。对个人的解读，主要有两种：生理的和生命的。生理解读有8976个，生命解读有2500个。生理的是针对身体的健康状况和治疗方法的。生命解读，是在1923年后开始的。此外，还有关于商业的799个，解梦的677个，关于精神和心灵的401个，住家及婚姻的24个。879个是混合的。没有内容的110个，包括寻宝，给国家领导人作的解读。1901年到1923年，就是黛维斯小姐接手之前的523个。此外，有一些特殊系列。比如262系列，是指导对解读现象有兴趣的学习小组而给出的解读，这130个解读后来被编成了《寻找上帝》一书，成为指导灵命发展的固定材料。

爱德加•凯西的解读确实在诠释和理解上存在着一些困难。首先，它们在某种程度上是难于阅读的，主要是由于它们的语法和古体的语言或者圣经的措辞和风格。它们是口语表达的书面记录，因此间或不会传达要表达的全部意图；甚至标点符号也能够意义重大地改变用声音作陈述的意思或者意图。另外，大多数的解读是作给特定的人，这些人关于被讨论的主题带有个人的观点和偏见，因此答复对于每一个寻求者都是独一无二的。最后，段落是如此复杂的，因为一些凯西的解读覆盖了如此多的要点和问题，因此要确定他正在指的是哪一个问题可能会是困难的。

任何对凯西解读的研究不可避免有断章取义甚至曲解的部分，所以欲探究凯西的真正本意，还是找到相关解读的原文下功夫才能体会到原汁原味。
